All About Joey Shows

Joey Shows, Joseph William Shows (nee Jacksicks) was born in Kileen, TX on February 5, 1985. After going through an abusive childhood at the hands of his alcoholic and bipolar mother whom was extremely emotionally abusive to him, and raising his baby sister Kayla, he began dating his first boyfriend at 17 years of age and moved out on his own. Eventually, he failed out of nursing school and chose to escort for money by placing ads in the back of the TWT and Dallas Voice for a few years.. At that time he was also go-go dancing at the TinRoom in Dallas and was arrested for a DUI.

After stints in Atlanta and New York City for various jobs, he eventually stayed settled in Dallas and met his ex husband Nick Shows. Nick and Joey were together for 12 years until, as Joey would recount, Nick abandoned him in the hospital while he was dying of renal failure and sent him divorce papers and said that Nick has refused to speak to him ever since. Much like so many other things Joey stated, this was not the whole truth, as truth is Joey’s kryptonite since he uses lies and manipulation to convince others he’s a victim to cover his own shame and dismissive avoidance.
